Bring your school for an educational, memorable and fun visit to Johnson's Zoological Gardens

What you can expect from your School's visit

Explore Package 

Enjoy a day at Johnsons Zoo, taking in the animals at your own pace. You'll have free access to our activity sheets and can bring packed lunches for you and the children to bring with you to enjoy, in our outside zoo seating area. In adverse weather you will be provided with indoor seating. This package is also applied to school groups with children under 3.

minimum 20 students, no maximum amount of students, with 1 free teacher to every 5 children.

Interactive Package

Start your day with a keeper introduction, followed by a guided tour of the animals in the morning, using our free activity sheets. Enjoy an indoor space for your school to eat your packed lunches in, followed by a keeper session in the afternoon. The children will be able to experience a deeper dive into the animals we have here at Johnson's, with the opportunity to handle certain animals!

Minimum of 20 students and a maximum of 70 students. 1 free teacher to every 5 children.

INTERCATIVE PACKAGE: 
ZOO KEEPER SESSIONS
 

Choose from 2 unique zookeeper sessions to find the

one that best fits your classroom learning needs! 

 RAINFOREST 

With the 'Rainforest' package, the children will be able to learn all about the different layers of the rainforest, as well as meet and handle a reptile!

 FUR, FEATHERS AND SCALES 

With the 'Fur, Feathers and Scales' package, the children will get the chance to understand the difference between the animals with fur, feathers and scales. The children will get to handle one of the creatures from our zoo!

schedule of the day

10:00am - Private room available to leave lunch and belongings, with a zoo keeper introduction of the day

10:00am - 11:30am - Enjoy a guided tour of our zoo  using the complimentary activity                                                     sheets to learn more about our animals 

11:30 - 12:30am - Lunchtime!

12:30pm or 1:30pm - Zoo keeper session commences (30mins duration)

02:00pm - Finish the day by enjoying spare time in the zoo

The timing of your visit can be adjusted to meet your school's needs. However, the times for the zookeeper sessions and the availability of the private room cannot be changed.
